As a mom to neurodivergent kids — and an ADHDer myself — I’ve been searching for an interior designer who truly understands the intersection of style and sensory needs. My Instagram algorithm sent me a video of Rachel talking about one of her courses. Because it was so affordable, I decided to take a chance on it. I’ll be honest: my expectations weren’t high, not because of anything Rachel said, but because I’ve spent over 100 hours in Occupational Therapy sessions learning about sensory needs, and so much of what I’ve found in the past reduces everything to “simple and beige.” I was blown away. Rachel gives an incredibly thoughtful overview of different sensory processing differences and how they influence an individual’s style. As a maximalist, I felt so genuinely seen and understood. She makes interior design feel approachable and actionable, offering plenty of small, budget-friendly changes that make a big impact. As an ADHDer, the temptation is always to overhaul everything, but Rachel provides enough insight, structure, and encouragement to inspire sustainable, meaningful shifts instead of overwhelm. Her courses cover a wide range of topics, and her monthly coffee chats have quickly become something I look forward to. I could not recommend working with — and learning from — Rachel more. She is a gift to anyone wanting a home that feels both beautiful and sensory-aligned.

The most valuable aspect for me is that this lighting design guide is kind of a living document that can grow with you as your design skills/home ideas grow and change.  When I first looked through it I skimmed for just pendant info.  Now that I have been in my home longer and want to do more, I find myself continually going back to the course. The online format and presentation make it very easy to follow even though there is a wealth of information. I think it is most helpful to know that as a consumer you are not only receiving information but you are also receiving the ability to learn more about your own taste and how to implement design in a personal way for your home.

I had a great experience working with Rachel Jackson Design! Rachel helped me select exterior paint colors for my New Orleans home and consulted on several other spaces throughout the house. She’s incredibly efficient, attentive, and has a great eye for blending style with practical needs. Highly recommend her services!

The lighting design kit saved me so much money and heartache. I didn’t buy things that were the wrong size, I knew exactly the height to have them hung and spacing apart. Thank you RJD for the right advice at the right time!!

I have done multiple projects with Rachel Jackson Design and I’m always so glad I pressed the “easy button” with her full service package for my living room and master bedroom! Rachel has a gift for making a home feel professionally done (I think it’s all the layers that I just don’t know how to put together), and yet, it’s still so easy to live in and maintain.

Rachel is awesome. She has the ability to make every room feel cozy with just the right balance of personalization and warmth. She puts a lot of thought into the personalities of her clients and really tries to make the room feel like them. She layers lots of textures for an inviting feel but also has a knack for making things functional, not just pretty.
